About Us

The Utah Center for Renewables, Efficiency, and Workforce (U-CREW) at the University of Utah helps manufacturing and commercial organizations identify practical opportunities to reduce energy use, lower operating costs, and improve performance. Through no-cost technical assessments, we deliver data-driven recommendations with clear benefits.

As part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Training and Assessment Center (ITAC) program, U-CREW pairs this work with hands-on workforce development. Students and early-career professionals gain real-world experience in energy systems and industrial processes, preparing them for in-demand careers.

By combining technical assistance with applied learning, U-CREW delivers measurable value to organizations while helping build a skilled and capable workforce.
